FAK WELCOMES LAERSKOOL MIKRO COURT VERDICT WITH RESERVATIONS (Afrikaanse weergawe hieronder)

The Federation of Afrikaanse Cultural Associations (FAK) is overjoyed at today’s court verdict in favour of Laerskool Mikro. The FAK does, however, regretfully take note of the intention of the Western Cape Department of Education to take the case on appeal to the Constitutional Court.

The FAK is currently in consultation with the broader Afrikaans cultural world on the continuing crisis in Afrikaans schools, and a public announcement on this will be made at a media conference in Pretoria next Friday, the 25th of February.
